What’s Next: A Wanderlust for One Update

September 5, 2017 by Marsha S.

I knew moving to Seattle in 2013 would change my life in a big way, but I didn’t anticipate that adjusting to my new life would mean a prolonged break from blogging. And while I’ve had to put Wanderlust for One on the back burner for a few years, I’ve always been confident I would pick up and start blogging again when the time was right. … [Read more...] about What’s Next: A Wanderlust for One Update

It’s Official: I’m On Hiatus

April 27, 2015 by Marsha S.

These days, I talk about this blog in the past tense. That makes me sad. "I used to blog," I tell the curious. Some are content with that brief response whereas others prod for more. "My blog was called 'Wanderlust for One,'" I'd say when they asked. "I wrote about solo travel." Except these days, I don't travel as much as I used to. These days, when I do travel, I rarely do … [Read more...] about It’s Official: I’m On Hiatus

Smith Tower, Secrets, and Seattle

On June 10, 2010, almost exactly 2 years ago, I penned the very first post on this site after deciding to simply embrace an impulse to write about my travels. I hardly had any idea about what I was doing, what running a blog about travel entailed, and how much work was involved. … [Read more...] about Becoming Wanderlust for One

Chicago Architecture Highlights: 5 Must-Dos

Several American cities hold a special place in my heart, but when it comes to indulging my appreciation for great architecture, Chicago stands head and shoulder above its peers. This Midwestern city, with its rich history and occasionally tumultuous past, is also home to some seriously gorgeous buildings and innovative structures. So on a recent […]

The Best Time to Book a Flight

What’s the best time to book a flight? Search the internet for guidance on buying an airplane ticket and you’ll get all sorts of advice. Buy early on a Tuesday. Buy two months before your planned travel dates. Buy during a full moon on days ending in “y.” Okay, I made that last one up. […]
